About us
The purpose of the scheme is to contribute to the establishment and improvement of the safety service in small and medium sized businesses. If necessary, the regional safety representative (RVO) can take on the role as the business’ safety representative (verneombud). In businesses with an established safety service, the RVO shall familiarise themselves with whether the safety service works as intended and provide advice and guidance on systematic work on occupational safety and health.
The Regional Safety Representative scheme in the accomodation, food service and cleaning industries was established in 2013 to reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, ill health and exclusion from the labour market. To achieve these goals, the RVOs work in applicable industries throughout the country.
A corresponding scheme for the building and construction industry was established in 1981.
